K.aruna (Janise) is a microbiologist and a medical writing professional who specializes in patient education. She holds a BS in biology, a PhD in microbiology, and has post-doctoral training in molecular biology. She received her 200-hour teacher’s certification from Yoga Loka in 2010 and is a registered Yoga Alliance Instructor. Karuna leads Family Yoga and Kids Yoga classes at Yoga Loka. To share science education with children, Karuna has volunteered for many years as a science teacher and science fair judge for middle school. Scientific experimentation with yoga postures has helped Karuna to personally experience how a daily yoga practice can strengthen the body and help to heal past injuries. She lives in Hunterdon County with her husband and son.
