Ayurvedic Yoga Therapy Weekend
with AmarJyothi
(Bonnie Pariser)
October 22-24th

bonnie half moon bw

Ayurveda (the “science of life”) is the ancient, traditional medical system of India. During the weekend we will be introduced to a form of Ayurvedic Yoga Therapy, created by Mukunda Stiles which incorporates classical Hatha, Tantra and Raja yoga techniques to balance the three constitutional types (doshas) central to Ayurvedic typology: vata, pitta and kapha.  It is both a profoundly practical and a deeply spiritual approach to health and well being.  We will learn some powerfully healing and balancing vinyasas ( flowing yoga postures combined with breathing practices) and explore how each of us can understand our own dominant dosha, detect signs of imbalance in ourselves, and then apply the appropriate yogic techniques to regain our balance. These practices are accessible to everyone, regardless of previous experience.

In addition to the study of AYT, you have the opportunity to join the Ashrams scheduled programs such as Sanskrit classes, Hatha yoga classes, morning, afternoon and evening meditation, evening programs with Joan Suvall and delicious and lovingly prepared vegetarian meals
