Private Yoga Instruction
One-on-one instruction is the perfect way to properly begin developing your own Yoga practice. Individual instruction ensures you will learn the right technique from the start.
If you already have an established practice, private lessons with Bonnie will enable you to polish your practice, strengthen areas of weakness and achieve poses that seem unobtainable.
After evaluating your current practice against a body-reading of your physical strengths and weaknesses, Bonnie will suggest the changes that will lead to optimal results.
Bonnie's attention to detail, long study of the body and nearly 20 years of Yoga experience is invaluable in helping you to take the next step gracefully, whether that means polishing your overall form, getting into a headstand or recovering from an injury.

For thousands of years Yoga has been used to strengthen and energize
the body, keeping it healthy and youthful. Studies have shown Yoga practice

In advance of the Yoga practice itself, Bonnie measures joint range-of-motion and muscle strength, much as a physical therapist would, to determine your body's imbalances. She uses the information to customize a practice of Yoga poses that will enable you, through strengthening and stretching, to alleviate your body's imbalances.
Bonnie employs a variety of approaches during therapy sessions, including Yoga body work and energy work as well as guided imagery and other meditation techniques. As a result, Structural Yoga Therapy can be used to heal both old and new injuries.

Thai Yoga Therapy
Based on massage principles of Aruyveda, Thai Yoga Therapy is a
healing system that follow Sen lines, the energy lines of the body. Working
with Sen lines allows tension to be released and vitality to be restored.
Bonnie guides you into gentle Yoga stretches while
stimulating the Sen lines, enabling energy to flow freely through the body.
This brings balance to the body and creates a deep sense of relaxation and well-being.

Reiki
Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by "laying on hands" and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words - Rei which means "God's Wisdom or the Higher Power" and Ki which is "life force energy".
Reiki treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind and spirit creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace, security and wellbeing. Many have reported miraculous results.
Reiki is a simple, natural and safe method of spiritual healing and self-improvement that everyone can use. It has been effective in helping virtually every known illness and malady and always creates a beneficialeffect. It also works in conjunction with all other medical or therapeutic techniques to relieve side effects and promote recovery.

Bonnie Pariser is the founder, director and senior instructor at Yoga Loka in Frenchtown. She has practiced Yoga for more than 20 years and has taught Yoga since 1999. Bonnie completed her initial Yoga Teacher Training and her first Therapeutic Yoga Teacher Training at Saraswati River Yoga with Parvathi Nanda Nath Saraswati. Bonnie is certified as a Structural Yoga Therapist under the direction of Mukunda Stiles, a world-wide leader in the field of Therapeutic Yoga, and the author of the seminal book, "Structural Yoga Therapy." She completed the first level Thai Yoga Massage training with Lotus Palm School in Montreal, level one and two Reiki with Jacqui Crown, and is currently assisting Mukunda Stiles in the certification course for Structural Yoga Therapy.
