After years of training in various dance disciplines including tap, jazz and ballroom, Helga had her first experience with Yoga about 12 years ago. She took classes on and off for a few years until she awakened to the life changing effect it began to have on her. Fully inspired, she completed the 200 hr training in 2009 and the 500 hr training in 2010, specializing in Structural Yoga Therapy with her teacher AmarJyothi (Bonnie Pariser).
Helga has been teaching since 2010, but also continues to take asana classes as well as workshops on yoga philosophy. In the beginning of the summer of 2012 she acquired her Master Reiki Level and appreciates every opportunity to share the energy.
Helga believes that her chosen path is only the beginning of a wonderful journey that will be a lifelong experience. “The practice of Yoga goes so much deeper than just physical activity. It touches your soul and opens your heart.” She is applying the principles of yoga in daily life and enjoys sharing her love and enthusiasm for Yoga with others.
Helga’s teaching style focuses on proper alignment and positioning in her students’ poses in a friendly and supportive environment. She stresses the importance of listening to one’s own body’s needs and being fully aware of each breath we take.
